YWCA Aurora President / CEO outlines goals aimed at overall improvement

The future of women and their families is of vital importance to all member of our community. The staff, Board of Directors, and Board of Trustees stand ready to help provide the very best programs and services possible for each and every one of our members and those that seek our services.

The YWCA Aurora has a long tradition of excellence. We seek to continue that tradition by Building Capacity to Deliver Program Services that Deliver the Brand Promise. A significant Capacity Building project is in the works at the YWCA Aurora. We are working with the YWCA Great Lakes Regional experts who are working to facilitate a Strategic Program Development Process as the YWCA Aurora chooses programs to accomplish their mission, builds capacity to deliver on the programs, and establishes systems for monitoring assumptions and continuous improvement. Frank Martinelli, GLA Consultant, has also guided Board of Directors and staff in creating a challenging, comprehensive, diverse, and contemporary vision for our association.

As an association we are also committed to fiscal responsibility. We strive to operate with a balanced budget. We pledge to use all of our resources efficiently and strategically.  One of our greatest resources is “staff”. It is important to continue to recruit, develop, and retain the best staff possible, as well.

I also want to improve our communication with all of our stakeholders. Our improved website and upcoming newsletter is a step in that direction. As we strengthen our community and family partnership, all of us will benefit greatly.

We are working hard to meet and exceed these goals. As always, I welcome any all input from our community. As we work together, we want to see each YWCA Aurora member and those that participate in our programs to reach her/his highest potential.

Please save May 8, 2008 on your calendar for the Annual YWCA Aurora Women of Distinction Luncheon. It provides us an opportunity to recognize those that are making an impact in the community we serve. More information will be forthcoming soon.

Cora Reda, President/CEO
