Empowering Women

YWCA Aurora provides several programs to assist women and families in the Aurora community.

After School Programs.  The YWCA Aurora’s fee-based After School Program provides a safe and affordable, school-based After School option for students and parents. The program supports the YWCA’s mission by providing three critical services to Aurora parents, children and educators.

  1. Providing a much-needed After School program as an alternative to parents losing income or children having to fend for themselves After School;

  2. Providing an alternative to busing or transporting students to offsite locations for After School care; and,

  3. Program components include homework assistance, recess and healthy snacks for children who may not otherwise have these basic benefits After School.

Child Care Assistance Program.  YWCA Aurora has partnered with YWCA Metro Chicago to provide assistance to Aurora families who need to complete CCAP applications. 

Scholarships. In 2016, YWCA Aurora established two scholarships for Aurora women students who attend Aurora University and Waubonsee Community College.
