YWCA Aurora’s launches Community Dialogues discussion on race
YWCA Aurora will host the next Community Dialogues discussion group on the topic of race beginning on June 8 at 5:30 pm at the Santori Library over the course of four weeks. Community Dialogues is a facilitator-guided discussion group that explores issues of race and how it impacts our everyday lives. This Dialogue group will explore the origins of race via film review, discussion and interactive sessions.
Participants are asked to attend the Dialogues with the intention of having an open and peaceful discussion filled with respect, to share experiences and to reflect on how to make a positive change. Facilitators of the Dialogues will be representative volunteers from local communities, schools and faith-based organizations. As community representatives, the Facilitators will engage with fellow community members to address local issues and potentially identify steps toward positive change. Our goal is to move the discussion of race positively forward so we can work toward unity in Aurora.
