YWCA Aurora’s Community Dialogues discussion on race
YWCA Aurora next Community Dialogues is March 7th and 14th, 2018 from 5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Santori Library. This session is to engage Aurora High School Students in a facilitator-guided discussion group that explores issues of race and how it impacts our everyday lives. This Dialogue group will explore the origins of race via film review, discussion and interactive sessions.
High School participants are asked to attend the Dialogues with the intention of having an open and peaceful discussion filled with respect, to share experiences and to reflect on how to make a positive change. Facilitators of the Dialogues will be representative volunteers from local communities, schools and faith-based organizations. This event is hosted in conjunction with YWCA Aurora and Kane County Sheriff. Our goal is to move the discussion of race positively forward so we can work toward unity in Aurora.
Free event! Light dinner provided. Certificate given for attending both sessions.
Registration is required by March 1st, 2018.
