Walk a Mile in Her Shoes

There is an old saying: "You can't really understand another person's experience until you've walked a mile in their shoes." Mutual Ground and YWCA Aurora have come together to bring you the 4th Annual Walk Shoes® an international men's walk.

We are asking men to literally walk in women's high-heeled shoes. It's not easy walking in these shoes, but it’s fun and it gets the community talking about something that's really difficult to talk about: domestic and sexual violence.

While domestic and sexual violence happens to both men AND women, victims of these crimes are still predominately female. With this walk, we are attempting to bring awareness to the fact that when domestic and sexual violence happens, it affects everyone!

Parade Route

The parade route will begin at Benton and River, head east on Benton, north on Broadway, west on Downer Place and ending at River Street.
