YWCA Peace Park
225 N. River Street, Aurora
We invite you to join us as we share information, stories and participate in a one-mile Peace Walk along the Fox River with a common goal in mind: together, we can end violence.
The event is free and open to the public.
The event includes:
One-mile Peace Walk along the Fox River
A lighted path to peace
Lighted lantern release over the Fox River
Please wear ORANGE to make a statement against violence
Dedicate a luminary bag ($5 per bag) with a violence victim’s name at www.ywcaaurora.org/donate and list your dedication in the Address Notes line. The luminary bags will light the path to peace along the Peace Walk route.
Week Without Violence is part of YWCA’s global movement to end violence against women and girls. At YWCA, we recognize that violence impacts the lives of countless women and their families across the United States, with one in four women experiencing domestic violence, one in three young girls experiencing physical, verbal, or emotional abuse, and more than three women murdered by their partners each day in communities across the country.
For more information, please contact Helane’ Aghayere, Program Director of the YWCA Aurora at 630-299-2281 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
